The techniques and strategies taught in the Personal Defence or Close Combat course help not only to physically cope with particular cases of violence such as an altercation, a mugging or, in the case of women, a sexual assault, but also to overcome the blocks psychological and motor problems caused by the momentary fear that comes from being faced with a road or domestic accident, a fire, an earthquake, etc. Therefore, this course represents a privileged opportunity to become more aware of one’s defensive capabilities, to obtain a greater sense of security, to believe more and more in oneself and to feel free to circulate freely at night even in the so-called “areas at risk”. In the long term, every person who has participated in the Personal Defence course will notice that the topics covered become more and more current every day, because they teach how to react instantly to any type of stress, promote the growth of self-esteem and facilitate the establishment of mechanism that leads each person to success.
»Read-More More specifically, the DP course proposed by our association is aimed at young people, men and women, who due to time or availability problems cannot or do not want to undertake the study, certainly longer, tiring and complex, of a specific martial art. Or it can be used by those who are already enrolled in a martial arts course, to develop some issues that will be deepened after obtaining the black belt. During the course there is a short warm-up and physical preparation phase before starting the study of the techniques to be performed in pairs, techniques that sometimes involve a complex dynamism of the movements. Correct breathing, precision of gestures, the ability to copy the single physical exercise and the ability to adapt it to different opponents will be taken into consideration. The participant will then have the opportunity to verify their reactive and technical skills, and the progress obtained through simulations of aggression. 1st level program Introduction to percussion techniques (palm, fist, elbow, knee, foot, head) How to assess a threat from a genuine dangerous situation. The attitude of guard, the defensive lines and the correct use of the safety distance. How to free yourself from particularly serious situations such as chest grips and strangulation attempts. How to defend yourself in uncomfortable places like a wall, behind, in alleys, in cars, etc. The specific defense against attempted robbery and rape. Commonly used objects for defensive purposes. 2nd level program Deepening of the techniques of the 1st level course. Detailed anatomy of the defensive and offensive capacity of natural weapons. Attention level and safety areas. Specific avoidance solutions: wriggles, displacements and study of the blind spot. Indirect responses: disarticulations, immobilizations and abductions. Closure of the attack (clinch) and control methods. Focused responses: anatomy of major pain points (how to defend yourself effectively without leaving marks).
